Who we are
Shiney Inc ("Shiney AI", "we", "us") runs this website and is responsible for your personal data. Questions about your data: hello@shiney.ai.
This policy covers this website, the enquiries and audit calls that come through it, and how we answer and follow up people who contact us. It does not cover information we handle for our clients under a separate agreement, such as messages from their own customers.
What we collect
What you give us. Your name, email address, phone number, company and what you tell us about your business, when you fill in a form, book a call, call us, text us, email us or message us. Please send business details only, and no passwords or payment details.
What comes from your calls and messages. The time of your call or message, your number and the content of your messages.
What comes from your visit. Our website host handles the technical details needed to show you each page, such as your IP address and browser. If you say yes to statistics, we also count your visit: the pages you view, the device and browser you use, and an approximate location taken from your IP address, seen by us only as totals. Details are in our Cookie Policy.
What comes from ad platforms. If you fill in a form on Facebook, Instagram or Google, that platform sends us the answers you gave.
Why we use it, and what allows us to
For people in the EU and the UK, the law asks us to name what allows each use. The third column does that.
| What we do | Why | What allows it |
|---|---|---|
| Answer your enquiry, hold your free audit call and give you a quote | You asked us to | Steps you asked for before a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Do the work and invoice it, if you become a client | To deliver what you bought | Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) and bookkeeping law (Art. 6(1)(c)) |
| Call, text, email or message you back about your enquiry. We may use automated systems and AI assistants for this | So you get an answer fast, also outside office hours | Steps before a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering quickly. Where the law asks for your consent first, as it does for texts, we ask for it on the form |
| Follow up if we have not heard back from you | So an open enquiry does not get lost | Your consent where the law asks for it, otherwise our legitimate interest. You can stop it at any time |
| Book your audit call in our Google Calendar and send you the invitation | So the call happens at the time you picked | Steps you asked for before a contract |
| Count visits to this website, as totals | To fix and improve the website | Your consent in the cookie banner |
| Advertise on Google, Facebook and Instagram, and answer enquiries sent through their forms | To reach businesses that need us | Steps you asked for, when you send us a form there. This website itself runs no advertising tools |
| Keep records for tax, accounting and legal claims | The law says we must | Legal duty (Art. 6(1)(c)), and our legitimate interest in handling legal claims |
Where we rely on our legitimate interest, it is the interest named in the table: answering enquiries quickly, keeping open enquiries from getting lost, and handling legal claims. You can object to it at any time, see "Your rights and choices" below.
AI and automated systems
Calls to Shiney AI may be answered by an AI assistant. Texts, emails and social media messages may be answered by an AI assistant, and conversations are stored. Our service providers process these conversations for us. When you talk to an AI assistant it tells you so at the start. You can ask for a person at any time.
We make no decisions with legal or similarly serious effects about you by automated means alone.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share personal information with these categories of service providers, only so they can work for us, under contracts that let them use it only on our instructions: website hosting and visit statistics, the database and software that run our customer platform (CRM), phone and text message providers, AI providers that help write replies, the service that connects our email and calendar, and Google, which runs our email and calendar (Google Ireland Ltd for people in Europe, Google LLC elsewhere). All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information won't be shared with any third parties.
We also share information with authorities when the law requires it. You can ask us for the full list of company names at hello@shiney.ai.
Text messaging
If you opt in, Shiney Inc will send you text messages about your enquiry, your audit call and service updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. See our SMS Terms.
Cookies and tracking
This website runs no advertising cookies or pixels. We count visits to this website without cookies, using a tool from our website host. It stores nothing on your device. It does not follow you across websites or from one day to the next, and we only see totals, never who you are. We only count your visit if you say yes to statistics in the cookie banner. You can change that at any time under "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
Because nothing on this website tracks you across other websites, a "do not track" signal from your browser changes nothing here. Details, including the few things this website keeps in your browser, are in our Cookie Policy.
Where your data goes
We are a company in the United States, so your data is handled in the United States, and some of our providers work in other countries too. For people in the EU and the UK: where a US provider is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and, for the UK, its UK Extension), we rely on the European Commission's adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 and the UK-US data bridge. For other providers we use the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum. You can ask us for a copy at hello@shiney.ai.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become work: deleted 12 months after your last contact with us.
Client and invoice records: for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Proof of your consent and of any opt out: while it is used, and 5 years after that, so we can prove and respect your choices.
Our do not contact list: kept so we can respect your choice.
Website statistics: at most 12 months in our reports, as totals only.
What this website keeps in your browser: see our Cookie Policy.
Your rights and choices
You can tell us to stop contacting you in any reasonable way: reply STOP to a text, click unsubscribe in an email, tell us on a call, or write to hello@shiney.ai. We act on it within 10 business days, usually at once.
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it, to move it to another provider, and you can object to uses based on our legitimate interests, including all marketing. Where we rely on consent, such as for texts or statistics, you can withdraw it at any time. Write to hello@shiney.ai. We answer within one month.
How to complain to us. If you are unhappy with how we use your data, email hello@shiney.ai. We confirm we have your complaint within 30 days, look into it without delay and tell you the outcome.
Regulators. In the EU you can also complain to the data protection authority where you live or work. In Denmark that is Datatilsynet, www.datatilsynet.dk. In the UK you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
You do not have to give us your details, but without them we cannot answer your enquiry.
Other things we do
Keeping your data safe. We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your data against loss, and against access, change or disclosure by people who should not have it. No way of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee it.
If our business changes hands. If Shiney Inc is merged, sold or restructured, your data may pass to the business that takes over, and this policy keeps applying to it.
Protecting our rights. We may use or share information where it is needed to enforce our agreements, including billing and collection, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Shiney Inc, our clients or others.
Children
Our services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you think a child has sent us information, write to hello@shiney.ai and we delete it.
Changes
We update this policy when what we do changes. We post changes on this page and update the date above. Version 1, 23 October 2026.
